The modular assembly system RCS is now also as complete module present
The modular assembly system Sachs Racing Clutch System – for short: RCS – has already won many fans from the motorsport scene. It is possible, with several thousand versions, to deal with almost every demand made by drivers and teams competing in the many different racing categories with an individual clutch system. With homogenously designed components, such as the friction plates, pressure plates, intermediate drive plates and housings it is possible to compile the optimum clutch for all installation parameters and applications.
Through the replacement of individual components it is possible to adapt the clutch to suit new demands. Wearable parts can be replaced easily and quickly. The Sachs RCS comprises of the three nominal clutch diameters of 140 mm, 184 mm and 200 mm. There is a choice of two sintered friction materials (RCS Race and RCS Rally), a high-load organic friction lining (RCS Sport) and the High-end Version with a friction plate manufactured from the Formula 1 material carbon (RCS Carbon). Various pressure plate materials and the choice of two different diaphragm type springs allow the compilation of a one, two, three or four-plate clutch, subject to application and transmitted engine torque. Sachs RCS Systems for the transmission of between 90 and 1400 Newton-metres are available. Further advantages: low moment of inertia through the use of high-strength aluminium, simple replacement of individual components and a very long component life.
Now Sachs presents the Racing Clutch System as complete module. In addition to the clutch, it now comprises of a specially adapted, light-weight flywheel and even the release mechanism. The technical advantages are easy to understand: Previously, to fit a Sachs Race Clutch System the customer usually had to make, depending on the vehicle model, extensive modifications to the standard flywheel or even replace the entire component. The light-weight flywheel is integrated in the module kit, which makes the entire system almost 50 percent lighter and, due to the lower moment of inertia the engine is considerably more responsive. On account of the high-tech materials used, every RCS-Clutch is very light resulting in extremely fast gear shift times. The clutch release system is also included in the module kit, therefore reducing the effort of installation to simply mounting a clutch pedal travel stop in the cockpit. Furthermore, the release mechanism is located centrally to guarantee ease of actuation.
In preparation is a Sachs Racing Clutch System as complete module for common racing cars from Alfa, Audi, BMW, Ford, Honda, Opel and Porsche.
