Notes on fitting the RCS Clutch

In order to guarantee the proper function of your new RCS© clutch, the following recommendations should be followed.

  • The flywheel centering shoulder should be 2.5±0.05mm on a diameter of 186.88-0.046 mm.
  • As a next step, please take measurement D = from clutch bell flange to releaser contact diameter with diaphragm spring ( releaser completely stretched).
  • Once you have taken measurement D, you then need to take measurement E= from clutch bell flange to releaser contact diameter with diaphragm spring (releaser completely pushed to end position).
  • Please continue the procedure by taking measurement A = from motor flange to screw-down area of compression plate (after the flywheel has already been treated).
  • You now have all necessary measurements that will allow you to calculate. Please perform the following equation:

E > A + I + Y

D < A + I – X

If you do not reach the desired result with your equation, you should,

1) change the positions of the releaser or,
2) mount or dismount clutch release ring (height = 5mm) onto diaphragm spring accordingly.
