Toyota uses the lightweight variant of the Formula dampers. With the help of intensive cooperation and care from Sachs in test and racing events, everything is being done for Toyota Formula 1 to reach an optimal setup for the drivers on the various race circuits.
On the clutch side, efforts have also been made to give the team (who is used to getting good support in previous years) assistance in literally making the best start in its first year. To accomplish this, a 3-disc Carbon clutch is being used, which has been specifically tuned to Toyota‘s needs, and is only equal in its basic construction to others being currently used by our customers.
Toyota can look back on a long tradition in motorsports, which has mainly been focused on rallies, touring and long distance races. After attaining nine World Championship titles in rally sports, two overall victories in the Le Mans were very closely missed a few years ago. In 1999, the world‘s third largest car manufacturer (total output in 2000 around 5.9 million vehicles), made the big leap into Formula 1, 2002 was marked the Japanese giant‘s big debut in the grand Prix.
