Sachs Formula© Clutches provide individual solutions for the top international motor sports teams, and have been structurally customized and intensively tested together with high profile race teams and the Research and Development departments of Sachs Race Engineering. Results of this continuous development work, provides ZF Sachs with the latest technological breakthroughs, in materials, and manufacturing processes.

This is exclusively about carbon clutches which have been designed for small series production and have been constructed as multiple disc components with a diameter ranging from 97 to 200 mm. In addition, ZF Sachs Race Engineering offers corresponding light-construction flywheels including stay bolts as well as high performance release systems.

Continuing development work on these high end motor sports products has been triggered by the increasing demands of our customers when it comes to performance, weight, and size of our systems. As one of the areas of application, Formula 1 offers us the latest technological breakthroughs, materials, and manufacturing processes.

The characteristics of the Sachs Formula© Clutch Systems are as follows:
· Use of temperature stable Carbon as friction material,
· use of high quality materials, such as Titanium and Aluminum alloys,
· patented solutions for the individual components,
· use of highly precise production processes, such as wire and cavity sinking erosion and electron-beam welding,
· special coating to minimize wear and tear and friction,
· Use of high-quality hybrid ball bearings in the release systems,
· Revision of the clutch system by our specially trained team following each application and a clutch record is maintained,
· high flexibility in the construction, making it possible to create individual solutions for every application.

This results in the following product advantages for our customers:
· smallest possible construction size and high/optimal usage of available construction space,
· low weight and small angular momentum,
· high operational safety even under extreme load, for instance during standing race start,
· improved starting behavior thanks to the good dosage capability of the clutch,
· high durability and quick availability of spare parts.
